What an outrageous weekend! The VANS WARPED TOUR hooked up to the VANS TRIPLE CROWN Skateboarding Competition!
MAN! - Who could ask for more!
An inverted WALL CLIMB was just enough to give the "Street Side Dare Devils" one more shot at their moment of fame ..
Bands like OZOMATLI with their mixed bag of nonstop chantin' changin' Jazz and conga beat and SAVE FERRIS singin'up a storm, shook up the crowds.
The "Amateur" Board Competitors were tearin' up the street course -
Shannon McFadden took first -
and there was a 3 way tie for 2rd between
Jerry Tucker,
Jay Henry and Diville Nunes, who rides for Outta Bounds!
Local Artists were paintin' the town red?? . . .

People got there anyway they could - Asbury Park's like in the middle of "NO WHERE" ..
Except for THE CASINO SKATEPARK - and the STONE PONY - where Bruce Springstein started out - it's a "yesterday" kinda place - as in basically "burnt out" . . PERFECT!
The highlight for me - was a chance to talk with Steve Perry - the lead singer for the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. (made that 3 hour wait for my PRESS PASS worth it .. .)
We talked about the newest project happening through XTREME CENTRAL:
Everyone really had a good time! - even tried to keep the place neat ...
I bought some cool chains 'n met people from all over -
We also saw some of the best Boarders in the world Skate in "The Big Heat"
(yeah it was!)
