Not too many of the
OLd "senior citizens" are still around who remember the Amusement park and the Carousel House -

Brightly colored Painted horses, center spinning mirrors, the loud and almost erie sounds of organ pipe type music coming outta the middle of the ride.
The most important part of that gig, was to make sure that you grabbed a horse that went up and down - 'cause otherwise it was real embarrassing 'cause ya figured that every other kid thought that ya woosed out.... reasonable conclusion for a 6 year old - 'cause when the ride did start and if you were on a "Moving" horse -ya got the "living shit scared out of ya!" - (those horses went WAY higher than ya thought!) until ya finally got with the rhythm...

So much for the OLd days . . . Different scene now - although the old paint and some left over neons hangout as reminders of yesterday - the crowd has definitely changed...

Lotza boarders hangin' outside... hoping to grab a flying T-shirt or a set'a bearings or whatever give-aways from the DJ
Inside - ya had both boarders 'n bladers gettin' on sharin' a VERY decent vert ramp, some 1/4's, flyboxes, 'n lauches
and the coolest wooden / masonite kidney bowl I'd ever seen!

The Bands lined up were:
Murphy's Law - Vision - Lords of Brooklyn - Farenheit 451 - DOC Hopper (featured here) - 2 Minutes Hate- Lord Streling - and Step Ahead!
Some serious music -
We'll probably be goin' down again for the VANS WARPED TOUR'98 - has a $30,000 purse! - supposed to be happening down there on the Asbury Park Boardwalk next to the Stone Pony - like July 31 - Aug. 2 with the qualifications on June 6.
Could be cool - lotza bands doin' that gig - I think ya need tickets...
maybe I'll catchya there . . .
